Isn't a private school education expen$ive?

Think about this.  Before your children were of school age, did you work and need daycare?  How much was daycare?  $150 per week?  More?  Tuition at St. Andrew's averages out to about $58 per week over the course of a year.  Isn't your child's education worth 1/3 the cost of day care?

More importantly, how can we place a value on a child's spiritual future?  St. Andrew's not only provides an excellent education in a secure environment, but strives to nurture a spiritual future for each child.  A personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ, is priceless.

How much is tuition at St. Andrew's?

Pre-Kindergarten tuition is $1100 per year.  There is no registration fee.

Full day Kindergarten and Grade 1-8 tuition is $3,000, payable over 10 months.  There is a discount for WELS members as well as a contribution credit for members of St. Andrew's.  There is also a discount for families with multiple children.  There is no registration fee, but there is a fee for books and milk, as well as a tuition deposit that will be credited to your statement.

  ****Tuition assistance is available.****

Are uniforms worn at St. Andrew's?

No.  There is, however, a strictly enforced dress code.  The dress code can be found in the student handbook that is distributed each year in the fall.

Is bus transportation available to St. Andrew's?

Yes.  South Washington County School District 833 provides bus transportation to and from school for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, in accordance with district guidelines.  Parents are responsible for transporation of pre-kindergarten students.

What are the age requirements for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten?

Children who enroll in our Pre-Kindergarten program must be four years old by September 1st of the year they begin school.  Children enrolling in Kindergarten must be five years old on September 1st of the year they begin school.  Parents seeking early enrollment for their child must have the child tested for early Kindergarten enrollment.  Information regarding this testing is available from South Washington County School District 833.  The principal in consultation with the Kindergarten teacher will make the final determination on early enrollment.

What impact does a multi-grade classroom have on academic and social development?

A large study conducted in the mid 1990s showed that students in multi-grade classrooms perform equally as well as students in single grade classrooms.  The study also concluded that students in multi-grade rooms had better attitudes towards school, self-concept and personal and social adjustment than students in single grade classrooms (Cognitive and non-cognitive effects of multi-grade classes: A best evidence synthesis, Simon Veenman (1995)).

Is there a hot lunch program?

No.  Children must bring their own lunch.  Milk is available for purchase prior to the beginning of the school year.  However, there are several days per month in which a hot lunch is available for purchase, provided by local restaurants.  There is also an in-house prepared hot lunch available for purchase, usually once a month.  In addition, there is a microwave available in each classroom.
